What are we looking for?

We are looking for an AMS Application Support Engineer to join one of our key clients, working on business-critical applications and cloud platforms within an international and highly dynamic environment.

The role focuses on application support, incident management, troubleshooting, operational maintenance, and cloud operations. You will collaborate closely with development teams and business stakeholders to ensure service continuity, system reliability, and operational excellence.

Role Description

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Manage and resolve application incidents and service requests according to agreed SLAs;

• Perform troubleshooting activities through log analysis, database queries, and application diagnostics;

• Monitor cloud-based applications and infrastructure to ensure service continuity and performance;

• Support operational activities including configuration deployments, certificate renewals, software upgrades, and platform maintenance;

• Collaborate with development teams to identify root causes and support issue resolution;

• Participate in operational meetings and major incident management activities;

• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures;

• Contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives and operational excellence practices.

Compensation:

Permanent Employment: Gross annual salary between €28.000 and €33.000

Freelance: Daily rate between €300 and €340

Work Mode: Full Remote

Location: Italy

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in Application Support, AMS, Cloud Operations, DevOps, or similar roles;

• Good knowledge of AWS services, including CloudWatch, EC2, EKS, and Lambda;

• Experience in log analysis, application troubleshooting, and incident management;

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases;

• Ability to read and understand code written in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python;

• Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar;

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills;

• Excellent spoken and written English;

• Availability to participate in on-call rotations for critical incident management.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Energy, Utilities, Commodity Trading, or similar industries;

• AWS Certifications;

• Knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform;

• Experience working with distributed cloud environments and microservices architectures.
